The new seven wonders of the world...

He called the new seven wonders of the monuments that won an international competition conducted by a private company named New Open World Corporation, and inspired by the list of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The initiative came from the Swiss filmmaker Bernard Weber, founder of the company.

Voting system          

The vote was public. Participants must register an email on the website of the corporation and elect their preferred candidates. Could also vote via SMS and through a toll payment. One criticism of the system used in practice was not precluded from the same person voting more than once, as long as it did from a different email or SMS. They could vote for one candidate and receive a certificate from the separate vote by the payment of two dollars.
In each vote is seven candidates chosen from a long initial list confecionada by the corporation, and increased at the request of various countries or massive voter applications. In recent months, the vote involved only the 21 candidates who had previously obtained the most votes.
Faced with protests from the Egyptian government in the final stage, was removed from the list to the Pyramids of Giza, a fact that was masked by the organizers assigning it the status of Honorary Candidate, because it is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the World ancient stands.


In this selection were admitted man-made structures until 2000, provided that they were standing today. The results were announced on 07/07/07 that is, the July 7, 2007 at the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon (Portugal), in a grand ceremony. The ceremony was attended by several special guests, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Jennifer Lopez, Hilary Swank, Ben Kingsley and Bipasha Basu.

Embodied in a poem made for a muse called Marchsam, the seven wonders of the world known to the ancient Greeks, were chosen by Antipater of Sidon, about the year 125 a. C. There are references from other previous lists compiled by Philo of Byzantium Herodotus.

Six of the New Seven Wonders selected have been declared World Heritage by UNESCO, as listed in 2009.
After voting is complete the new seven wonders of the world, the search began for choosing the seven natural wonders of the world, which reached its goal on 11 November 2011.
